Avoiding Bad Faith Allegations When Dealing with Narcissists

In this presentation, insurance professionals will gain a thorough understanding of how narcissism and other challenging personality traits affect the insurance claims handling process. Bad faith claims often result from interactions with narcissists and difficult personalities, and claims handlers and other insurance professionals need to be aware of these personality disorders to eliminate or avoid bad faith allegations.

By examining traits such as grandiosity, entitlement, and a lack of empathy, participants will learn how these behaviors can create communication difficulties, lead to bad faith allegations, and increase litigation risks.

Participants will receive practical strategies for managing individuals with narcissistic tendencies. This includes maintaining clear documentation to prevent manipulation and fraud, employing consistent and tactful communication to minimize misunderstandings, and avoiding confrontational language that might escalate conflicts. Additionally, the presentation will provide tips on negotiation and setting boundaries to handle high conflict claims effectively.
